This project is an excellent example of how load bearing Light gauge Steel Frame can be used to great effect in domestic housing. The benefits of speed of build and factory-built accuracy ensured that this difficult project went to plan.
The site was tight and made access difficult – the working windows for erecting the frames were equally tight with whole units being built over weekend periods on occasion to facilitate and assist programme.
Panelised roof system provided weather tight habitable space immediately upon install. The designs were enhanced rather than compromised by the use of the Frameclad Load Bearing systems.
Now fully occupied these units provide excellent example of how to build housing with Light Gauge Steel Frame using the Offsite full panel system.
