Vacant Office Building to be Converted to Hotel Using LSF

A vacant office building in East London is set to become a new Travelodge, with light steel frame being utilised in the retrofit. Barnes Construction is leading the way on the retrofit, with GA Interiors installing firestopping, drylining and the suspended ceilings for the project.

Announcing the news, GA Interiors said: "We're thrilled to announce that we've secured a contract for a new project in Stratford, East London. The development will transform a vacant office building into a 151-room Travelodge, built to a BREEAM Excellent standard.

"Our team will be responsible for the fire stopping, drylining, and suspended ceilings packages, ensuring high-quality finishes throughout the project.

"This prime location is just moments away from Stratford Station and Westfield Stratford City Shopping Centre, promising to attract new visitors to the area. We look forward to contributing to this dynamic hub and continuing our commitment to delivering exceptional projects."

Tony O'Brien, UK Development Director for Travelodge added: "Travelodge is delighted to continue the expansion of our network of hotels throughout London and this new hotel in the thriving hub of Stratford will be a fantastic addition to our portfolio.

"We have great experience of converting existing office space into Travelodge hotels. This type of development is a win-win solution for all parties, as it converts redundant space back into economic use."
