T Lott Ltd has been selected by GRAHAM Construction to deliver the light steel framing for a landmark education project in Ebbsfleet Garden City, Kent.
The £80 million Alkerden Academy will provide over 2,200 places for primary and secondary school students, making it one of Kent's largest educational facilities.
Spanning an 11.1-hectare site within the Whitecliffe Eastern Quarry Development, the academy will feature an all-through school, including an eight-form entry, five-storey secondary school and a two-form entry, two-storey primary school.
The campus will also host a community sports hall, sports pitches, car parking and access roads. Construction is already underway, with completion scheduled for July 2026.
To minimise disruption, the project will be delivered in a single phase, with a design prioritising sustainability and targeting a BREEAM Excellent rating. It also incorporates BIM Level 2 standards for advanced project management and efficiency.
T Lott's responsibilities include installing Knauf SFS and external sheathing boards, metal stud partition systems, wall linings, and suspended plasterboard ceilings with a plastered finish.
A spokesman for T Lott said: "We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded the SFS and internal drylining works at the Alkerden Academy for GRAHAM Construction.
"This project in Kent will consist of both a primary and secondary school with our works due to commence in early 2025."
