Plant Rooms at Birmingham Development Completed Using LSF

The plant rooms for a large-scale build-to-rent development in Birmingham have been completed by Datum Group using a light steel frame solution. The plant rooms have been installed on the roof of the Sherlock Yard development, which is set to be completed in 2025.

Robert Brooks from Datum Group said: "Great progress has been made at Sherlock Street for Watkin Jones Group. We are carrying out the full envelope design supply and install to three plant enclosures and louvred plant rooms."

Forward funded by Get Living, Sherlock Yard is a six building 551-bed development, that will provide a sustainable neighbourhood on completion in 2025 and will feature one, two and three-bed apartments, 47 of which will be affordable.

The scheme, which will be operated by Get Living and is located on a 2.47-acre site, will incorporate a new pedestrianised public square that connects the city centre with the wider Rea Valley Urban Quarter. Additionally, the scheme of circa 16,500 sqft of ground floor commercial space will support local employment opportunities. Internal and external amenity space will include a gym, co-working space, social lounges, landscaped podium and a double-height sky lounge.
