Metsec Involved in Manchester Housing Development

A large-scale urban renewal project will utilise light gauge steel in its construction of nearly 250 dwellings. voestalpine Metsec has been appointed by Panacea Building Systems Limited to design and supply the MetFRAME and SFS Infill for Downtown Victoria North on Rochdale Road Manchester.

The development will see 4,500 sqm of MetFRAME and 3,500 sqm of light steel frame infill delivering 237 units, incorporating a mix of apartments and duplex townhouses, some with balconies, garages and gardens, housed within four new buildings.

Jointly developed and funded by the Far East Consortium and Manchester City Council, Victoria North is set to create 15,000 new homes across 155 hectares and seven neighbourhoods over the next 20 years, helping with the shortfall in housing in Manchester.

The redevelopment project will create better-connected public spaces, new and improved transport links, and more homes, parks and retail spaces for the city’s growing population.
