Strong progress is being made on HG Construction's Kennington Lane project, thanks to proactive work by light steel frame installers Datum Group.
The new Kennington Lane scheme for HG Living comprises 185 student rooms across a nine-storey block, with amenities including study areas, a laundry room and communal spaces.
Ancillary accommodation is provided at ground floor level alongside a community cafe, with external works comprising cycle parking, an amenity terrace, landscaping and associated works.
Constructed with a concrete frame and brick facade, the BREEAM 'Excellent' design includes sustainable prefabricated elements such as HG's self-delivery bathroom pods.
Kierin Oliver, Senior Contract Manager at Datum Group, said: "Level four steel framing systems have been delivered on-site by Kingspan Group and we are all steaming ahead with offloading and installing. "As November brings wet and colder days, we need to ensure the site is watertight and that work is progressing. Datum Group is making sure that the SFS division stays on track, advancing the internal works and preparing the building to become warmer for continued work both internally and externally.
"This week, Kingspan Group delivered on schedule, ensuring all preparations were sorted. I coordinated the offloading on-site, supervisors checked in and workers were loaded out. We are moving forward without delays, with each week bringing new floors and completed work.
"The Datum Group SFS division, managed by me and overseen by Glen Linnane, continues to push the team towards closing out this project."Stay in touch:
