British Offsite Factory Tour

20th September 2024

at 1 Rontgen Place, Horizon Boulevard , Braintree Essex CM77 7AX

Providing a major opportunity to take a behind-the-scenes look, British Offsite will open the doors to its Horizon factory as part of  Offsite Construction Week. Constructed in 2023 costing more than £40 million, the state-of-the-art 180,000sqft manufacturing facility is a place where automation is underpinned by skilled operatives on a purpose-built production line. Generating highly prefabricated light steel frame panelised solutions – the new factory is quadrupling British Offsite's production capacity to 4,000 homes a year.

Bringing speed, adaptability and reliability to construction programmes with their next generation light steel frame systems, UNisystemSFS infill panels and UNisystemLB loadbearing solutions are precision manufactured on an advanced robotic assembly line. Arriving on site with the cavity build-up included, sheathing boards, insulation, vapour control layers, cavity barriers, brick-tie channels or facade supports, windows and doors – can all be factory installed, combining the work of up to five trades into one panel.

Pre-programmed robots produce UNisystems to exacting specifications on repeat. So whether a developer needs 100 or 1,000 panels, all will be exactly the same. Resulting in precision systems that can be lifted into place and bolted into position with a panel being installed every 15 minutes.

The tour will take place at British Offsite's factory at Horizon Boulevard Friday 20 September
